Hard days seem to be the norm for the beginning months of a foster care placement. Those are the days that we struggled to survive, but looking back, they shaped our family’s story.
Jen Lilley interviewed me about being a single foster mom, and I was able to share my story that is so full of God’s grace.
Over the past 4 years of being a single mom, I’ve had a long road of figuring out how to balance everything when it comes to life in general, but specifically my mental health.
God’s call to do hard things may not make logical sense to us as humans. Stepping into my call to be a foster parent, I was met with various reactions from others as I told them.
While not everyone is called to foster, everyone can get involved in foster care by supporting foster families as they take in new sweet kiddos.
Loving a child wholly means loving a child’s biological parents as well to honor their identity. Love requires sacrifice to our own ideals.
I started fostering 4 years ago, and through my experience, I’ve realized there’s only ONE thing you need to be a successful foster parent.
